If somebody asked to take your portrait — right now — and enshrine it in a museum, how would you dress? Would you smile? How about the lighting? Where does the shadow fall? Or are you flushed with light? What do your choices say about you? My answer? Well, I imagine my portrait divided evenly between light and shadow (90 degree lighting!). How about yours?
Watch this video and you might get some ideas. It perfectly words why portraits are fascinating. Better than that, it perfectly matches its points to artists making portraits worthy of PBS. It’s one heck of a treat. Made to show how terribly awful — and self-serving — but necessary portraits are. I guarantee you’ll enjoy this video.
Fascinating!
