Growing up, there were two artists that changed how I listened to music. One was Tupac and the other Omar RodrÃguez López. And yes these guys are from two completely different places. Pac was forever fighting and from the city, and Omar was from my hometown. The Desert City. Chuco Town. El Paso.
But unlike Pac, Omar’s playing, his style, his heritage, his passion, I understood like nothing else. And well, whenever he releases something new, I’m on it, twiddling my thumbs, waiting for that chill that runs from the top of my thick skull to the puny arches of my toes (via coddington). And usually, Omar never disappoints.
