Stolen Camera Finder
Sometimes the fun of going out to capture some street photography is outweighed by the risk. There’s always that chance of losing your gear or worse — as the New York Times reports — of being robbed simply because your equipment marks you as easy prey.
Well, this ingenious website negates at least some of those fears. StolenCameraFinder will help locate your missing camera by searching for photos taken by it on the web.
It does so by matching Exif data – hidden information stored in every photo including the unique serial number and make/model –within your own photos to those searched on the web.
Although Facebook photos are off-limits, chances are your stolen camera has been taking a photo or two, and now there’s a way of tracking it down.
Not bad at all.
